A Vision Born From The Pain Of Loss

We all have experiences in life that either shape us, or break us; the people we encounter along the way may also do the same. It is this reality that has contributed to the realization of a vision called One Solitary Life – a vision born from the pain of loss, but one that has emerged as ‘Purpose.’.

Nearly 20 years ago, my paternal Grandmother ended her journey here on earth, my father passed away two years later. Their losses left a tremendous void in my life. On the day that we laid their bodies to rest, I chose to be thankful, not sad, because they each touched my life in immeasurable ways, as they did the lives of many others – ‘ONE SOLITARY LIFE TOUCHES MANY!’

As I reflect upon my memories of the day that my father was laid to rest, I recall that there were a million thoughts racing through my mind, but none more poignant than the memory of my family exiting the sanctuary and looking out amongst the many faces in the crowd of those who came to help us celebrate his life. In doing so, I saw no tears of sadness, but only smiles of joy.

I noted that there was none of the money that my father earned throughout his lifetime sitting on those pews; there were none of the many accolades that he received from his employer, nor the fine Silver Mark LT truck that he loved so much, sitting on those pews. Sitting on the pews instead, at my father’s final farewell, were the people whose lives he had touched, and the many people who had touched his – ONE SOLITARY LIFE TOUCHES MANY!

The heart-felt losses of people I loved very deeply, was the genesis of this vision called ‘ONE SOLITARY LIFE’. This Company is a testament to the fact that WE CAN emerge from the depths of pain resulting from loss and turn that ‘Pain’ into ‘Purpose.’ It is through this vision, that our Company is committed to providing Products and Services that inspire our Customers to forever be mindful of the impact that their lives may have on another.
